Cookies & Browser Storage

NUMEN uses cookies and similar browser storage. Some support the app itself; optional measurement is controlled through Analytics preferences.

PostHog usage analytics and session replays

Unless disabled in Analytics preferences, PostHog (EU Cloud) records the displayed interface, scrolling, clicks and typed inputs to help us improve NUMEN. Recordings can include your name, birth date, account details, onboarding answers, Blueprint, personal analyses, Connections and Advisor conversations visible on screen. Passwords and payment credentials are excluded; console logs and network payloads are not recorded. We use a random browser identifier rather than identifying recordings with your account email or Firebase ID. PostHog uses browser storage such as ph_*. You can stop future collection in Analytics preferences without losing app access. Recordings are currently retained for 30 days.

Storage needed for the app

Firebase authentication uses browser storage to keep you signed in. NUMEN stores visitor/usage identifiers, consent choices and, depending on the feature, your Blueprint, onboarding preferences, drafts, reading position and calibration on the device. Session storage generally lasts for the tab’s session; local storage has no automatic expiry unless the app removes it or you clear it. These records support requested features rather than advertising. Clearing them may sign you out or remove unsaved work.

Optional analytics and advertising

Analytics and advertising measurement start automatically unless you disable them in Analytics preferences; saved opt-outs are respected. Google Analytics for Firebase uses measurement identifiers, including cookies such as _ga and _ga_*, for product usage reports. When advertising measurement is enabled, Meta Pixel may use identifiers such as _fbp and _fbc to connect visits and conversions to ads. These cookies may persist across visits; exact lifetimes depend on provider settings and browser restrictions. Server-verified purchase measurement also uses your advertising choice and hashed identifiers, as explained in the Privacy Policy.

Change your choices

Choose Decline all to refuse optional measurement, Analytics only for product analytics without advertising, or Allow all for both. Open Analytics preferences from onboarding or Profile Settings to change your choice. Refusing optional measurement does not block core features. Changing a choice stops future optional collection by NUMEN; it does not automatically erase information already sent to a provider. Browser settings let you inspect and remove stored cookies and site data.

Other external services

Fonts and the sign-in image are served with NUMEN’s own website files. Authentication and Stripe checkout also connect to external services when used. A network request can reveal technical information such as your IP address even without an advertising cookie. Contact contact@numenapp.ai with storage or privacy questions.
